GETTING THERE
- Zavalatica is the small town on Korcula Island Croatia that is home to Zitna Bay.
- To get from mainland Croatia to Korcula take a ferry which runs frequently, especially during Summer. Ferries connect the mainland towns of Split and Dubrovnik to islands such as Hvar, Korcula and Lastovo.
- To fly directly to Dubrovnik from Europe take a British Airways flight from London or a Croatia Airlines flight from Rome.
- Dubrovnik ferry port is a 25 minute drive from the airport.
ABOUT
- Zavalatica is home to only 400 residents and is 30 minutes from the main town of Korcula.
- Zitna Bay can be reach via a 300 meter pathway leading down from Zavalatica.
- The town is perfect for a quite, peaceful holiday and is abundant in fresh seafood, fruits and vegetables, wine and homemade olive oil!
Croatia is fast becoming a favourite on my bucket list thanks to peaceful hideaways like this. I can imagine becoming fully immersed in the local lifestyle with activities and food being stripped back to the basics.
